About Me

If you enjoy reading the stories I write, you oughta hear me in person.  I’d enjoy speaking to your group, club, association, organization, convention, church supper, or any other get-together.

I’m most often asked to speak about the events told in my books: a dangerous Dallas at the beginning of the twentieth century, the armed standoff between Texas and Oklahoma in 1931, Dallas as it matured into an international city, or the heart-rending plight of crippled and destitute Confederate veterans. However, I often speak to writers’ groups about historical research, writing sparkling nonfiction, finding an agent, the publishing process, and more. I especially enjoy speaking to genealogy groups about crafting a narrative from the stacks and stacks of family info you collected.

Between writing, research, and speaking, I keep a pretty full calendar. Call me early, and I’m sure we can find a  suitable date!

Just email me, and we’ll work out the details.

“The author has an easy-to-read, lively but informative style. He keeps this personal viewpoint, but never loses sight of the main story or how the people move things forward. The result is an informative and fun read that is warm and very human.”
